Dr. Foulkes has traveled to Scotland and England over thirty-three times in just four years to research and write her incredible accounts of the Scottish Wars for National Independence while photographing each and every medieval site referenced in her books. Her stories are in sequel to the ‘Braveheart legacy’ as told through the lives of her ancestors, the Douglases. With her in depth knowledge of those challenging if not frightening times, the author provides eloquent descriptions that bring to life an era where the fight for Freedom was an ongoing struggle. Her lectures are accompanied by an extensive array of photographs of the very locations where the history took place. Dr. Foulkes presents her talks to all age groups with great success; engaging audiences through visual depictions of the extraordinary, historical events.
